Extracting video from a DVD...

  • Start the DVDxDV program.  The main window should appear:


  • Insert DVD created into your drive. DVDxDV will automatically load the DVD. You can, also, load the DVD from the "File" menu.

 

  • DVDxDV will load files from your DVD.  This may take several seconds to a few minutes.  If nothing happens, check to make sure the DVD disk has been recognized by MacIntosh.

 

  • DVDxDV should have one or more video loaded.  It should be similar to this:

 

  • You can click through the files in the list to view any of the clips from the DVD.

 

  • You are now ready to make a new video clip from one of these files.  Select  "New Movie" from the "Extract" menu.

  • The following window will appear:

  • This window will allows you to select the type of video you would like to create.  Click one of the export presets for the type of video that you want to create.
  • Once you have selected the settings that you want, click the "Export" button.  The "Save" dialog box will then appear:



  • Select the location you would like to store the new video file.  You can also change the name of the file if you want.  Once you are done click the "Save" button to start the export process.  It may take a couple of seconds, but you should see the following: 


  • Once the extraction is complete, the dialog box will disappear.  The new video file that you created is ready to use. If you want to stop the extraction early, press the Cancel button.
